When the trial starts, every character's datapad will have a new entry on it labeled VOTING in large red letters. Pressing this label will bring up a screen where the five suspects and their photos are listed. This program is both DNA and privacy locked; only the owner of the datapad will be able to view the voting screen and submit a vote. Anyone else looking at the datapad when the voting program is running will only be able to see a blank screen. Should the player have forgotten or lost their datapad, a robot will promptly fetch it for them.

To submit a vote, the player must press the name of the person they wish to vote for, which will then light up red. Players are free to change their vote at any time and as often as they wish during the trial by pressing the name of another suspect. If the character is unable to see, the datapad will adjust the screen physically to their equivalent of Braille so they can read the text by touch. If a player has not yet submitted a vote, their datapad will begin vibrating a warning five minutes before the deadline. Once the deadline is up, the program will be locked down and any attempts to access it will fail.
