CAPTAIN'S LOG:
WEEK (12)

voting WEEK TWELVE

(11) survivors

When the trial starts, every character's datapad will have a new entry on it labeled VOTING in large red letters. Pressing this label will bring up a screen where the five suspects and their photos are listed. This program is both DNA and privacy locked; only the owner of the datapad will be able to view the voting screen and submit a vote. Anyone else looking at the datapad when the voting program is running will only be able to see a blank screen. Should the player have forgotten or lost their datapad, a robot will promptly fetch it for them.

To submit a vote, the player must press the name of the person they wish to vote for, which will then light up red. Players are free to change their vote at any time and as often as they wish during the trial by pressing the name of another suspect. If the character is unable to see, the datapad will adjust the screen physically to their equivalent of Braille so they can read the text by touch. If a player has not yet submitted a vote, their datapad will begin vibrating a warning five minutes before the deadline. Once the deadline is up, the program will be locked down and any attempts to access it will fail.

Please cast your characters' ballot below the appropriate comment below by Sunday, 9:00 PM EDT. Votes will be unscreened and ICly revealed once voting has closed.

3...2...1...

In the dead of the night, you open your eyes.

You are a Souvlaki, a parasitic alien race with the ability to infest a host, control their body, and even alter their memories and state of consciousness. An accident has trapped you on this ship...but also provided you with a source of powerful hosts should you have the cunning and skill to capture it for your own. Unfortunately, the AI and uninfected will be none too pleased should they learn of your presence, so for now you need to lay low and play along with the game. To avoid risk of detection, you will remain in a dormant state and allow your host full control at all times save for one night of the week, where you will meet with your fellow Souvlaki to discuss your plans.

Tonight is that night. Your host remains fast asleep as you bypass this ship's primitive technology, hiding your movements from the AI as you head to the viewing port, locking the door behind you.

[Adam’s file reads:]

EARTH (GLEN492034)
If we’re going to bring in someone from here, see if you can get a few seeds from those talking trees too. I’d love to run a few experiments on how far we can push cross-pollination.

[Adrien and Marinette’s file reads:]

EARTH (PARI92845)
Really? We’re considering children now? At least see if we can preserve their abilities without needing their “kwami” as well. The only good thing about the destruction of Earth is the complete annihilation of all insect life, I have no desire to see it return now.

[Clover’s file reads:]

RHIZOME 9 (NONA9234092)
What kind of sick fucked-up game are they running here? We might actually be doing a favor to anyone we bring in.

[Dave and Roxy’s file reads:]

THE MEDIUM (SBUR790345)
I have six doctorates in physics, time manipulation, and interdimensional analysis, and I still can’t comprehend a thing about this dimension. On the plus side, anyone who can live here will have no problems understanding our world.

[Dorian’s file reads:]

??? (THEDAS94120934)
Potentially powerful subjects, but we’ll need to develop some sort of power source that can replicate the effects of their “Fade”. Also to all the idiots reading this, for the last time, STOP TRYING TO BRING IN A DRAGON.

[Elizabeth’s file reads:]

EARTH (COLU5429205)
The ability to open interdimensional rifts without a decade of post-graduate work, a gaggle of incompetent co-workers and interns, and weekly calls begging every stodgy government official in sight for more funding? I don’t know if I’m incredibly jealous or incredibly turned on.

[Emily’s file reads:]

EARTH (WEND662943)
Apparently, some humans in this world have a latent genome that triggers when they resort to cannibalism which causes extraordinary physical enhancement at the cost of sanity. There could be potential here if we can isolate said genome for study. Just make sure not to run low on food supply.

[Fiona and Jack’s file reads:]

PANDORA (GLXY90458)
Total shithole. Still, anyone who can survive to adulthood here is going to be one tough S.O.B. to take down. Let's keep this one in mind.

[Grell’s file reads:]

Earth (VICT925435)
Apparently populated with aliens calling themselves "reapers" and "demons". Despite the primitive terminology, they appear to have impressive biological capabilities.

[Jason’s file reads:]

EARTH-ONE (CRIS520934)
Exercise caution with this one; as tempting as it may be to try to bring in as many of the extraordinarily powerful aliens, we still don’t know the full effects the transfer between dimensions may have on significantly non-human biology. Also, avoid anyone who call themselves [NOUN/ADJECTIVE][GENDER] - the lack of creativity does not bode well for their level of intelligence.

[Jessie’s file reads:]

??? (KANTO1519242)
Humans appear to have developed a symbiotic relationship with the various sentient fauna and animals of this world. It’s currently unclear what ultimate evolutionary purpose this serves, as all they seem to do is fight each other to the point where their entire economy is based on it. Do not target anyone in any sort of government position.

[Judar’s file reads:]

ALMA TORRAN (RUKH439204)
Someone from a civilization that went from dark ages to developing cellphones and skyscrapers in three years could be incredibly useful. Just be sure to bring in someone intelligent, like one of their scientists or engineers.

[Luke’s file reads:]

EARTH (OLYM829349)
Yes, I know the irony is too good to pass up. No, you can’t look for someone who enjoys fucking statues, I don’t care who they’re descended from. Get someone who’d actually be useful, like the boy who can control water.

[Todomatsu’s file reads:]

EARTH (JAPA666666)
The purpose of this project is to preserve humanity, NOT to create a menagerie of the most bizarre and powerful people you can find. I don’t care how many complaints there are, we’re bringing in someone normal. There needs to be some bastion of sanity in this mess.

[Yuno’s file reads:]

EARTH (DIAR12359495)
You idiots realize that we can’t actually capture “God”, right? We barely have enough power to supply most of the people you want to bring in with a source for their “magic”. All you’re doing is filling this ship with more unbalanced hormonal teenagers, as if we need any more.
